Functional Medicine addresses the whole person, not just an isolated set of symptoms. Functional Medicine practitioners spend time with their patients, listening to their histories and looking at the interactions among genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors that can influence long-term health and complex, chronic disease. In this way, Functional Medicine supports the unique expression of health and vitality for each individual. – The Institute for Functional Medicine

Music That Inspires Me:

Widespread Panic – Ain’t Life Grand

While a song by a band named Widespread Panic may not at first seem like it would be inspirational, “Ain’t Life Grand” gets my energy going and heart dancing from the opening crack of the snare drum. It has a bounding tempo driven by amazing ‘keys’ (piano). As it moves on it seems to have its own source of energy producing the combined sound product. Widespread Panic definitely has some darker tunes but this one lives up to its title using short-verse bursts of personal experience metaphors to proclaim, ‘Ain’t Life Grand’! – Dr. Matt Flory
