The recent passing of Dr. Wayne Dyer has been somewhat emotional for me. I was introduced to him quite a few years back when I began my journey of self-discovery and purpose. I remember changing channels on the television, not knowing what I was in the mood to watch and feeling lost and coming to the PBS channel where they were airing one of his seminars.

I can’t remember which one it was, but I can remember the feeling I came away with after listening to him.  It was a feeling of waking up and feeling alive for the first time and wanting more. I remember thinking to myself that it wasn’t a coincidence that I happened upon him while searching channels. This man inspired me to begin a journey of looking for answers and being patient with myself while I looked.

Though I never met him in person, I have been influenced for the better by having known of him.  It really is a testimony that we can touch lives and influence people without being in their presence. That we can change the world, one day at a time, one person at a time, one conversation at a time, one prayer at a time. Our purpose is infinite, endless, eternal, incomprehensible and so incredible that we would bow at each other’s feet if we really knew who we are destined to become if we just believe.

If I can follow in Dr. Dyer’s footsteps to be even a fraction of a percent the person he was and influence even one person in this life to “Awaken,” “Believe” and “Become their truest self,” I will feel that I have not lived in vain.

Hi Leslie,

I’m pretty sure Wayne Dyer woke me up at 5 a.m. this morning…rumi quote

The last couple of months, with a newborn in the house, it’s been our daughter June waking me up, but today was different.

Two days after Wayne’s passing, I feel his influence in my life more strongly than I ever have before.

So as I found myself stirring at 5 a.m., I could hear Wayne’s voice, quoting Rumi…

Tbe Shift coverIf you have met Wayne in person at an airport, at a hotel or in Maui he probably gave you a copy of his movie “The Shift”. Wayne loved this film and wanted as many people as possible to see it.

In memory of Wayne, Hay House is offering the opportunity to watch The Shift for a limited time. Check it out here and please share with those you love!
